Château de Lacquy Armagnac
By visiting this website you will discover a Gascon estate which has its roots in a land intended for vines since Gallo-Roman times. Château de Lacquy has been in the same family since 1711 and has since been dedicated to the production of an exceptional Armagnac in the purest tradition, a totally natural product resulting from the marriage between wine, fire and oak, a unique product result of 300 years of experience and patience.
Recognized for its terroir which produces eaux-de-vie of extreme complexity and smoothness, Château de Lacquy invites you, while tasting its Armagnac, to discover in your glass, a concentrate of the nature that surrounds it: the oaks mossy trees covered with lichens and epiphytic ferns, which populate the park and the forests, the light of Gascony which radiates the countryside, the Pyrenees which block the horizon with their blue mass, the flights of migratory birds towards the South, the wild animals that come to wander around the houses, the sheets of morning mists, the scents of wild mushrooms, lime trees and black locust trees in flower.
In November 2023, Château de Lacquy is launching a box bringing together a single varietal offering of the three varieties it cultivates: Folle blanche, Baco and Colombard, in the 2010 vintage.
From the vineyard to bottling, through the harvest, vinification (conservation of the free-run juice and the first press juice only, cold vinification), distillation in our traditional Armagnac still dating from 1939 heated over a fire. wood, then aging in Gascon oak barrels made by Gilles Bartholomo a few kilometers from the property, each of the elements influencing the final product has been carefully treated identically. And yet, these grape varieties give, on this unique site, very distinct profiles, which is an opportunity for the neophyte consumer or the enlightened amateur to discover or rediscover the richness and diversity of the Armagnac appellation in general and the armagnacs from Château de Lacquy in particular.
